There’s no witty blog post with me

to paraphrase Roy from The Fall, possibly my new favorite movie. Thanks to Erik for suggesting and to my fam, you HAVE to see this little girl in the movie, she looks just like Nancy when she was little, only not blond. =) “I touch your big toe!” Why that quote hasn’t become as big as “I drink your milkshake,” I don’t know.

Ah, so no witty blog post but some new pix for my class. The teacher didn’t like the first of the abstracts, says it doesn’t have a crisp line, but I like it so I put it in. In general, he’s very complimentary, he’s not mean.

“Everybody knows you like to throw oranges at the priest, even the priest knows. But I didn’t find that out from your gibberish message.”

Learning to stop time and yet go forward

Pix from photo class assignment 1 are up here. Assignment was to learn shutter priority; how to freeze or slow down time. I went to the Downtown Nashville public library where they have a courtyard with a fountain. Storytime had just ended and the courtyard was full of kids and moms having little picnics. I tried not to take any pix of kids…too afraid of anxious moms getting in my face. And as for the going forward part of the title, we finally have a date that we’ll be set loose from the pits of hell, a.k.a., my workplace. They “expect” that our last day will be July 23. Keep in mind that the last time we got a date it was July 20. Of 2009. But we’re having some sort of meeting next Tuesday, I suppose to discuss severance, etc., so that’s hopeful.

Next week’s assignment: f/stop priority. I have to line up similar objects and focus on them at several points. I think I’ll do gnomes.

Flaming June needs a new home

a free home, where I don’t have to use my extremely limited web design skills to make a rather unprofessional looking site. So here we are.

I’m taking a Photography class this summer at Watkins College of Art, Design & Film. Just Adult Community Ed, not worth any college credit. I’m very excited, though, because my instructor is a) an excellent photog and b) the registrar at Belmont. Hopefully I’ll be able to pick his brain and find out how to increase my chances of admission.

So I’ll be posting more pix, some assignments, some not. Enjoy it while you can, I have 4 accounting classes in the fall. Yay, Auditing and Payroll Accounting!
